Props to my nephew who just won 2nd place nationwide for the Grade 4-5 division of the InvestWrite essay contest. In conjunction with his class’ participation in a stock picking contest, he wrote a paper on handling risk when investing in equities. He worked really hard on it and his 2nd place finish earned him, his school and his teacher all kinds of prizes including laptop computers and whatnot. Looks like there’s another Money coming up in the family! Sweet. 🙂

In other news, I went to see Avenue Q over the weekend. Very funny show, but probably would have been better had I not seen the list of song titles beforehand and known what to expect. For example “The Internet Is For Porn” is pretty hysterical as a title for a song and its performance was certainly fun and funny, but it would have had a better impact on me had I not seen it coming. Mental note- do not review song lists prior to seeing a show.
