Corey Lidle Dies In Plane Crash

The big news this afternoon is that Corey Lidle, pitcher for the NY Yankees, was piloting a tiny plane that crashed into the Belaire Condominiums at 72nd and York. Details are still coming in, but the plane was registered to him and they found his passport on the street below. Reports say that the pilot gave a mayday indicating fuel problems before the crash. Man, how would you feel if you were A-Rod right now? If he had been putting too much pressure on himself before, imagine what is going thru his mind after this…. If he hadn’t struck out with the bases loaded in game 2, maybe, just maybe, they’d be playing Oakland today and Lidle would still be alive!

  1. Hmmm, and what would be going through the mind of Brian Cashman? Several reports at the trade deadline quoted Cashman as saying that, once he heard Boston was in the market for Lidle, that he would only accept the Abreu deal if Lidle were included.
