After a day of single table sit-n-go’s to pad my bankroll a bit, I entered a $10+1 w/Rebuys, 558 players. I rebought and added on after the first hour for a total investment of $31. Tried to play every hand as if it were the wsop for me, but still made a couple of loose calls. Fortunately I used them to my advantage by pressing the players I lost those pots to when I had better hands later on. They figured me for a fish and called me all the way down. I also made a bunch of folds I was proud of, even though the other guys never showed their hands. The result was good, making it to the final table, holding the chip lead for a while, shifting gears as I needed to. Ultimately I got knocked out in 3rd place when my JK offsuit lost to 78 suited when the board made his flush on the river. Oh well, I got $2,163.08 for 3rd place, and more importantly, I’m pleased with my play. Five hours with maybe only three or four mistakes, none of which jeopardized my entire stack. I think I’m as ready as I’m gonna be for the WSOP. I think I’ll take tomorrow off from playing just so I’ll be fresh for Vegas.
